Description

LidoPAIN HM is a topical lidocaine patch applied to the forehead for the treatment of headaches. LidoPAIN® HM releases analgesic doses of lidocaine directly into the trigeminal nerve, a nerve located in the face and forehead, stimulating the coverings (meninges) of the brain, which is believed to be a cause of migraine pain.

Stage of Development

The FDA cleared the Investigational New Drug application (IND) for LidoPAIN® HM in January 2001, and the Company completed a Phase II clinical trial for LidoPAIN® HM in headache subjects. EpiCept intends to continue clinical trials to establish efficacy of this product candidate in various types of headache pain.
