Overview

EpiCept is taking a new approach to treating both acute and chronic pain by targeting peripheral nerve receptors using analgesics delivered topically. These product candidates are designed to block the ability of peripheral nerve receptors to transmit pain messages to the brain, which in turn will provide significant pain relief, with fewer adverse side effects, fewer drug to drug interactions and lower potential for abuse than systemically delivered analgesics.

EpiCept currently has one pain product candidate in advanced clinical development. A second pain compound, LidoPain BP, has been licensed to Endo Pharmaceuticals.
